La pianista Paula Dreyer es compositora, educadora e intérprete. Su objetivo es inspirar, incluir y conectar a las personas a través de la música. Cree que con una buena guía, todo el mundo puede expresarse a través de la música. Forma parte del profesorado del Community Music Center de San Francisco y es autora de la colección pedagógica Little Gems for Piano. Ha sido profesora en la San Francisco State University, donde también obtuvo su máster; en el curso Maple Mount Music Camp, además de en San Francisco, Montréal y Bend, Oregon, de forma privada. Sus piezas han sido incluidas en el Taubman’s Basic Alignment and Rotation y en el libro para clases de grupo PianoLab. Además de dar clases, Paula imparte conferencias, forma parte de jurados e interpreta como solista, en música de cámara y como pianista acompañante. Paula fue artista residente en Obras, Portugal, donde compuso una gran parte de la música de Little Gems. Pianist Paula Dreyer is a composer, educator and performer who seeks to inspire, include, and connect individuals through music. She believes that with proper guidance, all people are capable of expressing themselves through music. She is on faculty at the Community Music Center of San Francisco and is the author of the instructional series Little Gems for Piano. She has taught at San Francisco State University where she got her master’s degree, Music at Maple Mount Music Camp, and privately in San Francisco, Montréal, and Bend, Oregon. Her pieces have been published by Taubman’s Basic Alignment and Rotation and the class piano book PianoLab. Her award winning Little Gems series has sold thousands of copies worldwide.
In addition to teaching, Paula enjoys presenting, adjudicating, and performing as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative pianist. She has played at world class venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Green Music Center, and with the Santa Rosa and Monterey Symphonies. Paula was a band member for San Francisco’s legendary show Beach Blanket Babylon. She was the winner of the Montréal Classical Music Festival and was a chamber music semi-finalist in the Concert Artist Guild Competition at New York’s Merkin Hall.
Paula completed an artist residency at Obras in Portugal, where she composed much of the music for the Little Gems. She has a real passion for composing unique, accessible, and enjoyable music for aspiring pianists and loves sharing her compositions with students around the globe. The Little Gems have been enjoyed in all 50 United States and in over 30 countries. Paula recently released her debut original solo album Central Star.
