Christophe nació en Bourges (Francia), donde realizó sus estudios musicales en la Escuela Nacional de Música y se graduó en 1972. Después estudió en París con PIerre Doukan y Silvie Gazeau, ambos profesores del Conservatorio de París, hasta 1975. Fue uno de los ganadores del Concurso Nacional de Jóvenes Violinistas de París en 1974. Entre 1976 y 1978 estudió con Shinichi Suzuki en Matsumoto, graduándose en el Instituto de Educación del Talento. Fundó el Instituto Suzuki de Lyon en 1980 y continúa dirigiendo este Instituto hoy en día.
Fue uno de los fundadores de la European Suzuki Association y colabora en la elaboración de los principios para la formación de profesores en Europa. Desde 1982, ha viajado por toda Europa para formar profesores y ha ofrecido cursos en Europa, Estados Unidos y Canada. Ha sido invitado a dar clase en muchos eventos Suzuki europeos e internacionales. Desde 2011 dirigió el International Suzuki Association Violin Committee, un proyecto de 15 años para revisar el repertorio Suzuki.
En 2008, Christophe promovió el movimiento Suzuki en Estambul y Ankara, Turquía. Además de sus actividades actuales con su escuela y formando profesores en cinco países diferentes, está promoviendo la Pedagogía Suzuki en Sudáfrica, estableciendo muchas nuevas clases en las diferentes ciudades.
Christophe was born in Bourges (France) where he did his musical studies in the National School of Music and graduated in 1972. He studied further in Paris with Pierre Doukan and Sylvie Gazeau, both violin teachers at the Paris Conservatory, until 1975. He was one of the winners in the 1974 National Violin Youth Competition in Paris. From 1976-78 he studied with Shinichi Suzuki in Matsumoto graduating from the Talent Education Institute. He founded the Suzuki Institute in Lyon in 1980, and continues to direct the Institute to this day.
Christophe was active as one of the founders of the European Suzuki Association and in establishing the guidelines for teacher training in Europe. Since 1982, he has travelled extensively in Europe to train teachers and do workshops in Europe, America and Canada. He has been invited to teach in many major European and World Suzuki events as guest faculty. Starting in 2001 he chaired the International Suzuki Association Violin Committee on a 15 year project to review the Suzuki repertoire.
In 2008 Christophe pioneered the Suzuki movement in Istanbul and Ankara, Turkey. Besides his present activities with his school and training in five different countries, he is currently active pioneering Suzuki pedagogy in South Africa, opening many classes in the township areas.
